Look under foot

The lesson which life repeats and constantly enforces is "look under foot." You are always nearer the divine and the true sources of your power than you think. The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive. The great opportunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world.

  1. Reminds me of this saying in Chinese Buddhism:
'With the foot up or with the foot down,
    all places are the Way-place.'

  2. Oh how I would like to push off of that shore and glide into the mountain and mist.
But then the quote says..the great opportunity is
    where I am. :o)

    Lovely photo, insightful quote...

    Blessings to you,
    Ama

  3. I suppose it's particularly relevent for those of us who have feet that refuse to take us very far - so we are continually forced to look under foof. I loved the sentence 'do not despise your own time and hour,' so true, for me. It's good to challenge my minds unquestioned assumption that things over there are a darn sight better than things under this foot!

With stompy, grumpy footsteps as I head out to the kitchen....Emma
